Paphiopedilum emersonii   KOOPOWITZ & CRIBB

Paph. emersonii grows in southern China at altitudes of around 400 - 700 m. These plants grow extremely slowly - regardless of whether this Paphio is cultivated in a temperate or warm area. The site has reported an extreme drought in November/December.
In nurseries in China / Vietnam this species is said to grow well when properly fertilized - whatever that means.

In Vietnam one grows the Paph. emersonii very similar species known under the name Paph. huonglanae has been described. Not all taxonomists recognize this name..
