Paphiopedilum lawrenceanum   PFITZER

Section: Barbata

Paph. lawrenceanum grows in the south of Sabah (Malaysia) and possibly also in the border area to Sarawak (Malaysia) on the island of Borneo at heights of 300 - 450 m.

The "real" Paph. lawrenceanum has been hard to come by in recent years. Only a few years ago a few plants were collected again. Paph. lawrenceanum is said to show 5 "spikes" on the lower part of the staminode.

Most of the plants offered today are likely to be hybrids with Paph. Maudiae "coloratum" or similar plants.
